Famijeunes Race Challenge

The Famijeunes Race Challenge (Le Défi course Famijeunes) has been around since 2017. In the beginning, people of all ages were invited to get moving and run in the Saint-Henri neighborhood to raise funds for the well-being of families in the Sud-Ouest borough. Over time, and especially due to the pandemic, our Challenge has evolved.
From a large in-person gathering, it has transformed since 2020 into a virtual, flexible, and accessible event, aimed particularly at businesses and their athletic, big-hearted employees. The Challenge was named the “GardaWorld Challenge for Famijeunes” for several years, in honor of the main donor at that time.
The Challenge takes place every year in August, an ideal time to be active! We have kept the virtual format because it allows us to maximize the fundraising impact, offering maximum flexibility to participants while concentrating our efforts on direct support for the community.
Our 2026 Challenge: Get Moving to Support Famijeunes
The mission of the Challenge has always been clear: combine sports and philanthropy. Every kilometer covered, every donation raised, turns into concrete actions for Famijeunes member families: perinatal support, community childcare services, parent-child activities, a supportive environment, and much more.
For the 2026 edition, we aim to raise $40,000 to continue our mission with the neighborhood’s families.
We have kept the virtual format because it allows us to maximize the fundraising impact, offering maximum flexibility to participants while concentrating our efforts on direct support for the community.
How to Participate?
More and more companies are creating teams to motivate colleagues and demonstrate their social commitment. But whether you are alone or in a group, the Challenge offers two categories with two completion options:
- Running Category: 50 km (to be completed in one week or one day)
- Cycling Category: 150 km (to be completed in one week or one day)
Testimonial
“What I love about the Challenge is the freedom to do it at my own pace, knowing that every kilometer counts for the families in my neighborhood. It’s motivating to get moving for such a concrete cause!“
— Marc, 2024 Challenge participant
