Mission and values

Our mission
Famijeunes supports, equips, and develops the empowerment of parents, starting right from pregnancy. Here, parents can enrich their parenting experience, break their isolation, and create conditions favorable to their children’s healthy development in the Saint-Henri neighborhood and its surroundings.
Our vision
We want every family to be able to thrive in a caring community, every parent to feel supported and confident in their parenting, and every child to be able to grow in an environment that fosters their emotional security and overall development. We want to be a key place of belonging for family well-being in Saint-Henri and its surroundings.
Our values
Friendliness
We adopt a welcoming and warm approach so that every family can feel comfortable and confident. We strive to create an environment where families feel “at home.”
Inclusion
We are open and accessible to diversity so that all families and individuals, regardless of their background or life situation, feel welcome in their similarities and their differences.
Consideration
We are respectful of each family’s needs and pace, listening to them without judgment.
Collaboration
We recognize the importance of helping one another and sharing everyone’s ideas, experiences, and strengths, whether it’s among families, between our team members, or with our partners.
Empowerment
We believe that parents are the primary educators of their children. We adopt an approach that fosters their self-confidence and autonomy, so they can make the best decisions and act with confidence for themselves and their children.
Our philosophy
Famijeunes’ philosophy of intervention stems directly from its mission and is shared by everyone who works or collaborates there. Four main principles guide our approach:
- Mutual support and exchange promote parents’ self-sufficiency, with the support of a multidisciplinary team.
- Parents possess the necessary potential and abilities to educate, love, and protect their children.
- The family is the primary living environment for an individual and for a child’s development.
- Children’s optimal development relies on the active involvement of parents in their journey.
